Summary: Jill Mickelson and Matt Ruble are professional engineers who investigate subsurface geology with an eye for what it means to bridge construction. Matt is a geotechnical engineer and will discuss the effect of geology on the design of structures, and in particular, bridges. Jill is an environmental engineer and will discuss how geology directly and indirectly affects environmental factors including impacts to the environment, contamination migration, and protection of human health. Both Jill and Matt will share stories of the various bridges they have worked on around the state.
